SnapShots and Release Candidates
Snapshots are periodic updates which may have more functionality than the last released official version but do not have the same level of testing. Release Candidates are generally used for testing just prior to a pending Official Release.

Requirements
Java Requirements:
MDweb 2 is designed to run in a server application framework on a Java Runtime Environment in a Java Virtual Machine.
Database Requirements:
MDweb 2 stores standard schemas, metadata profiles, metadata and thesaurus onto the open DBMS PostgreSQL
A PostgreSQL server 8.1 or above is needed. The PostGIS extension must be installed on the server. An administration tools like pgAdmin on some client machine is recommended.
